William Harvey (1578–1657) was born in Folkestone, Kent. From the Grammar School in Canterbury he was admitted as a pensioner to Caius College, Cambridge in 1593.
Born in Peterhead, William Seller (1798–1869) was the son of a merchant who died at an early age. His mother, with her three children, came to Edinburgh where Seller was educated at the High School.
William Ziegler, the son of Alexander Ziegler, graduated with an MD from Edinburgh in 1849, and a FRCPEd in 1861. He assisted his father in his general and obstetric practice.
